New Members

Per CSFA Bylaws, memberships fall under 2 categories:

Company (Group): Cover all members from Firefighter to Captain.

·      Single station fire company or department

·      Single engine, truck, rescue, etc. company in a multicompany station

·      Training staff

·      Fire Prevention/Inspection staff

·      Fire School/Academy staff

Individual (Department): Covers a single individual.

·      Chief Officers

·      Fire Marshals

·      Training Directors

·      Individual Members of companies not members of the CSFA

If you are signing up a company or department as the Point of Contact (POC) as the Chief Officer:

1.        Select Individual membership.

2.        Select the number of memberships for each additional chief officer (Individual) and each company/station (Group) you wish to join.

Example:  Chief Officer, 1 additional Chief Officer, 2 Fire Companies.

a.        Fill out basic information

b.        Select Individual (Department) membership from Section 2

c.        Select 1 Individual (Department) membership and 2 Group (Company Memberships from Section 3

d.        Fill out billing information and submit.

3.        For online applications and renewals, a $3.00 service fee is added.

CSFA Benefits

Claims for current dues paying members of the Connecticut State Firefighters Association (CSFA) are paid for Fire Duty which includes, by definition:

  • At Fires
  • When responding to and returning from Fire Alarms
  • At Fire Drills or Parades
  • While going to and returning from Parades
  • While at test or trials of any apparatus or equipment normally used by a Fire Department
  • While instructing or being instructed in Fire Duties
  • While answering or returning from ambulance calls where the ambulance service is part of the Fire Department
  • While answering or returning from Fire Department Emergency calls
  • Any other Fire Duty ordered to be performed by a superior or commanding Officer in the Fire Department
  • Any duty in connection with requirements in construction or maintenance of apparatus and related appliances
  • Operation and upkeep of Fire Alarm Systems
  • Engagement in Fire Prevention Activities and Investigations
